Gatherings

Few things make Chip happier than when our family and friends gather at our home. Especially when they are enjoying different aspects of the house: the ping pong room, the outdoor entertaining areas, gathering around the kitchen table, or even coming over to work on their projects in our workshop. We very much have a "what's ours is yours" philosophy when it comes to our home and the things in our home.

Coastal Sunsets

Really just that whole twilight hour at the beach. When the sun starts setting, it cools off and you just sit and enjoy watching the kids run around in their clothes (and still end up wet). ​Its like you want to soak up every last second. 

Coffee Chats

A simple coffee with french vanilla cream is always perfect for any occasion: a morning coffee date with chip, an afternoon pick-me-up or an after dinner dessert. Sitting with coffee in hand helps slow us down and enjoy the moment we are in.​

Georgia Summer Cookouts

Yes, definitely. Mostly we do this up at the lake. Watermelon seeds spitting contests, eating a burger right after an exhausting ski run...(Chip and I both like to Slalom Ski). The food is so simple but so good when you're starving from a day of play!

Healthy Living

Being outside just inspires you to enjoy and explore! I have always loved hiking. There is something about pushing your body to a responsible fatigue...all the while enjoying scenic views. I do enjoy exercising, especially with the kids and trying to instill healthy habits for them. Working out for Chip has always been a social thing. He loves the accountability of a workout partner. It's a time where they can connect and talk about way more than how many reps they need to do!

Traveling

love, love, love traveling. We are always up for adventure. We try to take one trip without kids each year. It's a great escape and time to reconnect while experiencing something new together. We aren't very good at just sitting in the same place for a week straight though. We either need lots of excursions or make the actual travel part of the vacation, enjoying a night or two at most at each destination.

Music Jams

We love playing name that tune. I'm stuck in the late 80's / early 90's while Chip has more appreciation for country music than me. ​ ​Together we are a dangerous combination. We can get most songs in the first few beats. ​It's also one of my simple pleasures to crank up the music with the windows down and to hear the kids singing loudly as we drive down the road.

Cooking with the kiddos

Our go-to dinner is always a breakfast supper...Chip and the kids say that I make "grandma" eggs. We do banana pancakes or waffles, bacon and eggs. My tip for good eggs, is to fold them instead of scrambling them as well as changing the heat up! The kids also enjoy home made pizza night. They add their own personalities with their pizza shapes (Mara made a bunny and JT made a cat last time) and their toppings. Mara and I go for the pineapple pizza while Chip and Mac are more the meat lovers!​

Kitchen Dance Parties

While you likely won't see Chip shaking it out in public, our kitchen is dance central. We usually have music playing and we dance with our kids without any reservations.
