Introducing The Perch: Treehouses at Pinhoti Peak

As seen on Fox & Friends – December 28, 2024

We couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to The Perch, the next chapter in building our dream retreat at Pinhoti Peak. Nestled in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains, this project takes mountain living to new heights—literally! The Perch will feature three elevated structures, affectionately called “treehouses,” designed to immerse you in the beauty and serenity of the Cohutta Wilderness. Each of these single-family homes is thoughtfully crafted with two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and dramatic skybridge walkways connecting the spaces.

Built to honor the land and its history, the treehouses are named after types of turkeys, paying tribute to the Native American roots of the Pinhoti Trail: The Tom, The Jake, and The Jenny. These homes aren’t just a place to stay—they’re an experience, combining innovative design and the timeless allure of nature.

We can’t wait to take you along on this journey, sharing the craftsmanship, vision, and stories behind creating a truly unique retreat. Below are some of the amazing products and brands we’ll be utilizing on the build to ensure the quality of the build is the best it can be!

Building a home is no small feat, but Huber Engineered Woods has revolutionized the process with their ZIP System Sheathing. By integrating the structural panel and water-resistive barrier into one, ZIP System sheathing eliminates the need for traditional house wrap, reducing installation time and improving overall performance.

The system’s advanced acrylic tape seals the seams, creating a continuous water- and air-resistive barrier that protects against leaks and drafts. Whether you’re constructing a new home like us or retrofitting an older one, the ZIP System is a game-changer in modern building.
